Dear District 103 Families,
The school year has begun, and we are very excited to see our students and their iPads in the hallways and classrooms. We are also excited for the integration of our updated 1:1 Participation Options. The adjustments made to last year’s 1:1 options were developed to create a more efficient and effective workflow for managing apps and devices across the different 1:1 Participation Options.
From time-to-time, I will send out updates regarding specific technology related matters. Some will be informational, and some may require action from families. For example:
Yesterday, September 13, 2016, Apple officially released its latest iOS, version 10. You can read more about iOS10 by CLICKING HERE. Although District 103 will upgrade the Rent and Rent-to-Own (RtO) iPads in the near future, we are going to wait until we have time to test iOS10 in our environment. Please DO NOT update iOS on any Rent or RtO iPads until further notice.
For our BYO iPad families
With the adoption of iOS10, the list of non-compatible Apple devices has also increased. To see a FULL LIST of compatible devices, please scroll to the bottom of THIS WEBPAGE. Any iPads older than an iPad 4 (4th Generation), are not compatible with iOS10.
D103 technology support staff members are willing to offer help and guidance when possible. Please feel free to reach out to us with general questions using the email addresses below. For immediate assistance, please see the Apple Support webpage HERE, or visit your local Apple Store in Northbrook Court Shopping Center - 1310 Northbrook Ct, Northbrook, IL 60062, 847-205-2020.
I look forward to seeing our students and their iPads more and more in the coming weeks.
