School District 103 is excited to receive a $20,000+ donation from The Learning Fund Foundation (LFF)!! This morning, Michael Cope (LFF President), Sandy Gantt (LFF Vice-President) and Alice Lee-Osborne (LFF Vice-President) presented Dr. Scott Warren (Superintendent) and Mary Ellen Buckley (Science Teacher at Daniel Wright) with a donation in support of the foundation's Science Initiative to fund the purchase of items on the science registry for District 103 schools.
Upon receiving the donation, Dr. Scott Warren stated, "This contribution from the foundation will enrich STEM learning opportunities for our students at all grade levels. It will allow us to provide materials, supplies and technology to our students that are beyond the reach of the district's budget. The foundation's work and the support of our community are making a significant impact, as we prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow."
As stated in its year-end letter to the District 103 community, the LFF "is advancing student development through its Science initiative - Equipping our science instructors at all grade levels with the technology and equipment needed to extend our newly revised science curriculum to an even higher level!"
