Procedures for Returning to School after Traveling
You may have been exposed to the COVID virus on your travels. You may feel well and not have any symptoms, but you can still spread the virus to others. You and your travel companions (including children) may pose a risk to your family, friends, and community after your travel. To limit the spread of COVID-19, the Lake County Health Department recommends avoiding all non-essential travel until you are fully vaccinated. Please read the Lake County Health Department guidance on domestic and international travel.
If your family has traveled, participated in risky behavior, and was unable to follow the 3 W's (wear a mask, wash your hands, watch your distance), or your child is showing COVID-19 symptoms then we ask families to:
- Have your child tested for COVID-19 with an RT-PCR test. Tests are available through your personal physician or a Lake County testing site.
- Do not send your child to school unless you receive a negative result.
- Share the results with school and your physician.
If you or your child exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms, please contact your personal physician for further instructions.
