Jazz Band

Purpose of the Activity

  • Jazz Band is the place to be if you are curious about jazz music. No prior experience with jazz music or improvisation is necessary; I will teach everything you need to know to be successful! In Jazz Band you will learn how to play in common jazz styles, the basics of improvisation, and a bit about the history of jazz music. You will also be introduced to many recordings of master jazz musicians on various instruments. Most importantly, Jazz Band is a place to make music with your friends and be yourself!

Tryout Procedures

  • Prior experience on the instrument you are playing in Jazz Band is required (you should not be a beginner on your Jazz Band instrument).
