Creative Writing

Purpose of the Activity

  • Two classes are offered:

    • Basic Creative Writing Workshop where students will explore short stories, poetry, and dramatic writing.
    • Advanced Creative Writing Workshop where students will practice outlining and writing original fiction, writing and rewriting original dramatic works, and performing poetry and spoken-word art.

Tryout Procedures

    • There are no tryouts for this club.
    • Students need to have a permission to participate form on file with the club sponsor or coach otherwise you will not be able to particpate in the program. 

Grade Level/s of Participants

  • Open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.

Meeting Schedule and Location

    • Season: Winter
    • Meeting Day: Varies depending on the workshop
    • Time: 3:45 p.m.
    • Location: Room 105

Student Attendance Guidelines

  • All students are welcome to join. However, students are only allowed to miss a maximum of 3 days. Due to consistent Monday meetings, students who have another after school activities on Mondays, such as a sport that meets Monday-Thursday after school, would not be able to join Yearbook.
