In District 103, we believe a collaborative school community, which employs best educational practices, involves parents, reaches out to the community, and relies on high-quality leadership teams, is what forms successful students. With over 35 languages spoken by our students, we cherish and celebrate our diverse community, which strengthens the educational experience for all of our young learners. Our Board of Education and school community are committed to this mission: to provide innovative learning experiences that empower each student to excel and make a difference in a diverse and interconnected world.

Our instructional program supports this mission with curriculum and learning goals that have Illinois State Standards for math and English/Language Arts, as well as Illinois Learning Standards for Social Sciences and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), as their foundation. We remain committed to supporting our families, as students integrate technology with their daily learning activities at school and at home.

District 103 differentiates instruction to meet individual student needs. This unique approach to instruction continually engages students in stimulating and challenging educational activities at all levels. We also utilize a Response to Intervention (RtI) plan that ensures effective academic support for students through research-based teaching strategies and materials. For more in-depth information about instruction in District 103, please visit our Curriculum Department web pages at www.d103.org/curriculum.

The professional family of District 103 is committed to providing a sound, high-quality educational program reflecting best practices within our Leaders-in-Learning vision. We also recognize the importance of helping our students to develop skills that will be needed for success in college and careers in the 21st century. Our strategic plan for the 2022-2026 school years charts the course for student success over the coming years.

I look forward to working with you and your child, and I encourage you to contact us to discuss educational issues, make suggestions, or ask questions about our schools.

Sincerely,
Scott H. Warren, Ed.D.
