Kindergarten Age Requirement

All children in the State of Illinois must be five years of age on or before the 1st of September in order to be admitted to kindergarten. The child’s birth certificate or alternative must be presented as proof of age and identity. State law requires school districts to verify their students reside within the district’s boundaries. We verify residency to help safeguard the investment our constituents make in School District 103.
