District 103 is committed to creating an environment where all are welcome. Our goal is for our facilities and technologies to be accessible to all students, staff, parents and visitors, in line with applicable law and in the spirit of service.
As part of this work, on Wednesday, April 18th our website is scheduled to introduce Audio Eye & the Ally toolbar as a Web Accessibility solution, helping end-users interact with our site in more accessible and more usable ways.
To learn more about the accessibility features of the Ally Toolbar, please visit www.audioeye.com.
As an elementary district serving young children, we recognize that you rely on us to keep our schools open, providing that it is safe to do so. In the unlikely event of a school closing or Late Arrival Day, we will notify parents in a number of ways: our webpages; an Emergency notification through SchoolMessenger; and TV/Radio announcements through the Emergency School Closing Center.
For details on the decision-making process, please see the Superintendent Letter.
For the 2017-2018 school year, we are using SchoolMessenger as the Emergency Notification System, which integrates with PowerSchool (our Student Information System) and broadcasts messages.
- Using contact information (e.g., home phone, cell phone, and/or e-mail address) provided by parents/guardians during online student registration, District 103 notifies parents and staff through SchoolMessenger. Note: Temporary delays can be expected when communication lines are stretched beyond capacity, such as when high volumes of messages are sent throughout the United States.
- Emergency notifications are sent to phone numbers and email addresses stored in our PowerSchool Student Information System that are provided by parents and staff. Note that these messages come from the District 103 Office: (847) 295-4030. If you don't see a message in your email inbox, please be sure to check your SPAM folder.
- Text Alert Option: Families may also choose to opt-in to receive our emergency alerts by text message on their cell phones. If you have NOT received an invitation to opt-in your cell phone number and DO WANT to receive text alerts, please follow the directions on the SchoolMessenger Text Messaging Servlce flyer. If you choose to opt-in, you must reply to the text message invitation.
