State Teacher of the Year Recognition
The Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ICTFL) will present Spanish Teacher Erinn Vincent with the Foreign Language Teacher of the Year Award on Friday, Nov. 17. Ms. Vincent was awarded for "her efforts to provide outstanding World Language instruction to your students," said ICTFL Co-Chairs Samantha Godden-Chmielowicz and Kathleen Priceman.
Principal Kendra Perri said, "This is a phenomenal recognition! I am very proud of Erinn for earning this esteemed honor."
"I am excited to spend the year discussing with teachers across the country about the importance of embedding Social Emotional Learning into the world language classroom. It’s important that students center themselves and know who they are, so they can navigate relationships positively and with empathy across languages and cultures. I am lucky to teach Daniel Wright students who come to class every day ready to share themselves and to learn about each other," Ms. Vincent said.
