After School Clubs & Activities About to Begin

Daniel Wright offers over 25 clubs and activities in which students are encouraged to participate. Some extracurricular activities are competitive in nature and require students to tryout for the club. Other activities are meant for student enrichment and are open to all students depending on space.

Registration for the fall After School Activities opens at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 using the RevTrak Web Store platform. Classes do fill up and are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

Art Club: Students in grades seven and eight are invited to explore new media and materials in creating self-directed projects.

Fiber Arts Club (formerly known as Sewing and Knitting Club): Fiber Arts for grades six, seven, and eight includes but is not limited to: sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, felting, and weaving.

Improvisation: Students in grades six, seven, and eight are invited to participate in a form of live theater, which the plot, characters, and dialogue of a game, scene, or story are made up in the moment.

Rubik’s Cube: Students in grades six, seven, and eight who enjoy cubing will enjoy learning moves to master challenging puzzles.

Science Bowl: The science bowl academic team tryout for grades six, seven, and eight will take place on Sept. 5 at 3:45 p.m. in room 206. Students will take a timed academic test on the topics of math, energy, life science, physical science, and Earth space science.

STEAM Club: Open to seventh- and eighth-graders to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math applications.

Student Council: A great service club to get involved in.
