TE6M Challenge

Sixth-graders have been involved in year-long team building activities from an undernighter's after school event in October to a capstone overnight event at a YMCA camp in Wisconsin in early May.

During the school day students will also divide into groups to compete in a TE6M (TEAM 6) Challenge. In one activity they had to create the longest, sturdiest chain they could from pieces of paper and a roll of tape. Advisories were mixed up to allow students from different teams a chance to work with and get to better know other sixth-graders. The TE6M philosophy is getting students to know each other better and build teamwork skills. This challenge was successful as students were able to generate incredibly long and strong chains while also developing new relationships and communication skills.
