Graduation Information

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year and all of the end-of-year exciting events for our eighth-graders. The following information will help you with end-of-year planning. Please watch for specific information regarding the graduation ceremony during the second week of May.

The eighth-grade dance will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Daniel Wright. Big City Lights Registration is where families should register for the dance.

Graduation gowns will be distributed to students at school on Wednesday, May 24, during advisory.

The last day of school for eighth-grade students is Friday, May 26. It is a full day of school.

Graduation rehearsal will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Stevenson High School. Students should be dropped off in parking Lot E and enter Door 29 by the Sports Center. D103 will NOT provide busing to rehearsal and students are responsible for their own transportation; via car, bike, or walking. Rehearsal will end at 11:30 a.m. and students can be picked up at the entrance to the Stevenson football stadium.

The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 in the Sports Center at Stevenson High School. Park in parking Lot E. The ceremony lasts about 90 minutes.

Although Daniel Wright students will be wearing graduation gowns, graduates are expected to wear school appropriate dresses, collared shirts and/or appropriate dress slacks. Dress shoes should be worn, keeping in mind that graduates must walk from the Forum to the Sports Center, and ascend stairs to receive their diplomas.

Stuart-Rodgers Photography will take pictures of graduates during the ceremony. Stuart-Rodgers will post the pictures on their website a couple of weeks after graduation. Pricing and purchase details are available on their graduation flyer.

A livestream of the ceremony can be accessed by friends and family worldwide via any internet connection; the entire program will last approximately 90 minutes. More details regarding live streaming will be shared as we get closer to the event.

General seating for the ceremony can accommodate up to ten guests per family; tickets will not be required.

Handicapped seating is limited, and tickets are needed to ensure that families can sit together near the handicapped-accessible seating areas. To ensure appropriate seating, we have asked that parents complete this form Handicapped Seating Form.
