STEAM Conference Loved by Students

Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 children were excited, engrossed, and mesmerized during the Learning Fund Foundation STEAM Conference that took place on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The foundation’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math (STEAM) event provided 180 students the opportunity to participate in activities such as exploring the invisible world of electricity and magnetism, learning about the physics of catapults, building video games, and creating obstacle courses for Sphero robots.

"We at the Learning Fund Foundation are committed to offering authentic and engaging hands-on learning experiences to our students," said Michele Schaapveld, President of the Learning Fund Foundation.  "Our goal is for the students to leave feeling inspired to pursue a career in a STEAM field," she said.

New this year was a Summer Camp & Adventure Day. The PTO would like to thank the camp participants as well as all the parents who came to see our exhibitors. Please be sure to check the PTO’s website under Camp Fair for contact information for our camps and programs.

The success of the Foundation’s STEAM conference is in large part due to its many sponsors who can be found on their website as well as named below.
