Sprague students celebrated Read Across America Day this month by reading books from all over the world. Sprague is a school that celebrates a community of students where 45 different languages are spoken in children’s homes,
“It’s a day that celebrates the joy of reading,” said Jacqueline Bever, Multilingual Learner Teacher. “Students are encouraged to find a book they love to read including comic books, fiction books, non-fiction books, read alouds, and chapter books. There are books about animals, sports, and characters that remind us of ourselves,” Mrs. Bever said.
Read Across America Day kicks off Sprague’s Global Book Club month, where students explore stories about various countries and animals that come from those regions, she said.
