Half Day students celebrated Veterans Day in a variety of ways from writing letters to veterans to interviewing a veteran they know.

In recognition of both Veterans Day and Native American Heritage Month, fifth-graders also learned about the Navajo Code Talkers and their impact on the outcome of WWII. "Students learned about how the code was created and used it to decode secret messages. Students used their decoded message to learn more about the bravery and sacrifices of our armed forces and veterans," explained Becky McGinnis, Library Media Specialist.
