Food Chains and Eco Systems

Half Day School enjoys field trips to the Edward Ryerson Conservation Area because of its rich ecosystems that fit nicely in with the school's study of the food chain as well as a study of living systems that is the science of life and all living organisms.

“The students love getting to visit Ryerson as it gives them a chance to get up close and personal with various organisms where they can actually touch many of them. The educators at Ryerson present the information in an interesting way that helps the students connect to what they are learning at school,” Third-Grade Teacher Sharyn Powell said.
